Meet the Counsellor/Psychotherapist—Maddi (she/her).

You don’t need to have all the answers — just a space to begin.”

Hello, my name is Maddi, and I’m the counsellor at Horizons Life Transitions & Grief Counselling.

I became a counsellor/psycotherapist after a long and fulfilling career in senior management roles, where I spent over 25 years supporting individuals and teams through pressure, change, and personal growth. I decided to follow my life long calling to train to be a counsellor to support people through some of the most challenging life changing experiences.

I retrained, following a path into counselling, arts psychotherapy, life coaching, and neuro-linguistic programming. hypnotherapy, addiction, trauma, and mental health, specializing in grief, change, and trauma.

Over the past 15 years I have worked supporting people impacted by a cancer diagnosis, infant bereavement, loss due to suicide, mental health, addiction, and trauma. Work-related issues such as stress, anxiety and retirement.

What Matters to Me

Counselling is deeply personal. I have a strong passion for supporting people through the difficult, confusing, and uncertain parts of life—the parts we don’t always talk about, but where we need someone to help us through difficult periods or where real transformation can happen.

It’s a privilege to walk beside people in those moments, and I hold that responsibility with professionalism, care, respect, kindness, and genuine warmth.
